Assessment Instructions
- Prior to viewing the first situation for a given teaching skill area, you will be asked to select the LOW or HIGH bandwidth version of the situation. If you have a dial-up internet connection or are experiencing restricted downloading bandwidth on your cable/DSL connection, select the LOW bandwidth option.
- For all situations, please select the MOST and LEAST EFFECTIVE answer choice before the 30-second countdown clock expires.
- You may take a break or exit and return, but do so only after completing a given situation. Individual situations last 3-5 minutes. To take a break or exit, simply follow the instructions at the end of the situation. If you exit before completing the assessment, the site will allow you to resume viewing situations related to the teaching skill area where you exited, or allow you to begin a new skill area. You will have to log in again when returning.
- The site allows you to manage the assessment process by selecting which of the five teaching skill areas to complete, as well as to view, print, and email your feedback report.
- It is not uncommon for users to experience time lags that may last several seconds when viewing a given situation or answer choice options. This is due to the computer.s inability to efficiently handle media embedded within the Flash files.
- There is a system wide timout after 60 minutes when no activity is detected after you have logged in to the site.
